Chloe Kim Winter Olympics Halfpipe Final Push

Chloe Kim delivered a composed performance in the women’s snowboard halfpipe qualifiers at the 2026 Winter Games, topping the field with a score of 90.25 and advancing to the final. The result keeps her bid for a third consecutive Olympic halfpipe gold firmly on track.

Competing with a braced left shoulder after suffering a torn labrum and dislocation during training last month, Kim made her Milan Cortina debut under visible physical strain. Despite the injury, she secured first place in qualifying, reinforcing her standing as a leading contender in the Chloe Kim Winter Olympics campaign.

Other finalists include Spain’s Queralt Castellet Ibanez, Japan’s Sara Shimizu and Sena Tomita, and Americans Bea Kim and Maddie Mastro.

The qualifiers also saw a setback for China’s Liu Jiayu, who fell after her board caught in the snow and landed on her neck. Medical staff responded immediately, and she did not advance.

In figure skating, Madison Chock and Evan Bates won silver in the ice dance free dance. France’s Laurent Beaudry Fournier and Guillaume Cizeron claimed gold, while Canada’s Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier secured bronze.

Day five highlighted both podium performances and the physical risks athletes continue to manage across events.
